How much money can you make cleaning aquariums

Water Change / Filter Media Replaced (Monthly) / Clean Glass

BTW, If your thinking about trying it out there is more overhead than you would think.

Depends on where u live, what services u offer, & if u charge on a per gallon, hourly, or contract basis.

Places that charge by the gallon usually go around $1 per gallon freshwater & $1.25-1.50 per gallon saltwater for just a basic cleaning & water change.

Hourly rates around my area start around $20 per hour with 1/2 hr minimum.

For contract work, I've seen as much as $50 for a single visit, & $20 for a 2x per month. Not as many offer their services on a contract basis, but if u get a contract, it will guarantee u work for x number of months (whatever the term of the contract), so these people often charge a little less than those who work one job to the next.

In addition to making money, realize at the beginning u will need to be spending it as well - u will need supplies, advertising, business license, business insurance, etc.

Well first off, anyone who wants to keep fish needs to clean their own aquariums, what exactly do you mean clean though? water changes? or full water cleaning?

For those fishkeepers who dont really know what they r doing with the fish & used professional sources to set their own fishtank, u can make a good amount. I have a friend who owns a saltwater tank but only got it because it would make his house more roomy. It ended up with other people taking care of the tank & cleaning it, while my friend pays them to do the chores. Pretty good amount too. You should know what u r doing before going off & cleaning other peoples tank though.
